General:
The proposed 4 bedroom home will be served by a private well and septic system. The well
is to be drilled in the location shown on the attached site plan drawing. The only property
that will be affected by the well location is presently a vacant lot (lot 4). Two test holes were
excavated on the property. We are proposing to design the septic system around the 30'
radius of test hole #2. Additional data is available from test holes excavated as part of the
original subdivision. Test holes 23-1 and 23-2 show similar soil conditions.
Soils:
The attached soils log and percolation test sheet show the field test results.
Drainfield Application Rate:
The design intends to use a standard wide drainfield design of 5' width. A lift station will be
used to pump effluent to the leachfield. Percolation rates were measured at 6.2 minute/inch
and we have used 0.SGPD/SF for design.
Wide Trench Design:
1. Percolation Rate = 6min/inch
2. Allowable Application Rate = 0.8GPD/SF
3. Number of Bedrooms = 4
4. Design Flow = 600 gallons/day
5. Minimum Absorption Area = 750 sq. ft.
6. Effective Depth = 2.5 feet
7. Total Depth = 7.0 feet
8. Width = 5 feet
9. Minimum Length = 2 each at 48'
Package System:
Greet Tank in Anchorage will manufacture the 2-compartment 1,250 gallon tank. The model
is MOA and DEC approved. The lift station will use a Zoeller E293 pump with a screen to
match the perforated pipe. This is a high-head, 1 HP submersible pump with
30gallon/minute capacity. The pump will have double float control and high water alarm
and a check valve. The pump is UL listed.

Surface Water:
Surface water was observed in Test Holes 24-2 and #1 south of the proposed building site
and is not a factor in this proposed septic design.
Topography:
The lot's topography is a 20% grade and is consistent throughout the septic design area.
We are not aware of any negative impacts that this installation would have on adjacent
properties. The proposed well location is more than 100' from the proposed septic and any
other septic systems on adjacent lots. If you have any questions, please contact me at
