Box 76 · Chugiak, Alaska 99567 · (907) 688-3085 June 3, 1979 Mr. Louis Kreamir 20 Grand Drive Box 2 Eagle River, AK 99577 Re, Results of an Adequacy Test performed on Lot 26,~ Eagle River Ranchettes Subdivision Dear Mr. Kreamir, Transmitted herein are the results of an adequacy test performed by me on a septic system serving a three bedroom residence at the above-referenced location. Existing System Design and Condition The system in service at the time of this test consisted of a 1000 gallon steel septic tank manufactured by Greet Tank and a concrete ring seepage pit. The septic system inspection report issued by the Greater Anchorage Area Borough indicates that the system was installed in April of 1973 by Hamilton Excavating. Design of this ~ystem was based on a soil absorption area rating -~.--of 130 square feet per bedroom. Four inch diameter cast iron pipe was used in constructing the system. Adequacy Test Procedure and Results Inspection of the seepage pit on June 2 showed it to be full to within a few inches of the bottom of the cleanout pipe. As a result, approximately 1000 gallons of effluent was then pumped from the septic tank and the seepage pit was allowed to stand overnlght. --- Water was added to the seepage pit on June 3, 1979. After 200 gallons were added, the seepage pit was full and the fluid level was observed to have risen twenty-four inches up into the seepage pit cleanout pipe. The flow rate was then reduced to 1.5 gallons per minute and another 700 gallons of water was added to the seepage pit while maintaining the fluid level in the cleanout pipe.
