Proposed Septic System upgrade for Lot 3, Wallner Subdivision To whom it may concern: The existing 4 bedroom house is served by a private well and septic system. The septic system is in a state of failure and needs to be upgraded. A test hole was excavated in the area of the proposed septic system. The septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We are proposing that a new 1250 gallon septic tank and two 5 -wide trench type drainfields be installed. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils, an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/ft2 should be used. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: <1 minuteslinch b. Allowable Application Rate: 1.2 gallons/day/ft c. Number ofBedrooms: 4 d. Design Flow: 600+ gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 500 ft2 f. Total Depth: 2.0 feet (max.) Provide leveling sand course. g. Effective Depth: 2 h. Width: 5.0 feet i. Minimum Length: 100 feet long (2 x 50 feet each) j Effective absorption area = 500 ft2 k. Reduction Factor: N/A 3. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached topography site plan, the average topography of this property is a 15 to 25 percent slope running from east to west. The slope down to the ditch at the road does not exceed 25 percent. In short, there are no slope concerns.
