ARM Septic Services, LLC recently checked the monitoring tubes in the drainfield and found them to be dry. In order to simplify the operation and maintenance of the system, we are proposing that this unit be permanently configured as a CAT II system. Our justifications are as follows: The receiving soil has a percolation rate of 40 minutes per inch (per James Sizemore, P.E. 1995 soil log). Given this percolation rate, a 2.0 gpd/sq.ft. application rate is required for a Cat III system and a 1.0 gpd/sq.ft. application rate would be required for a Cat II system. There is 2 foot of MOA filter sand below the drainrock in this drainfield. After the effluent passes through 2 feet of MOA filter sand, the effluent should meet Cat III effluent quality levels. The residence on this property has a total of 3 bedrooms, so 225 sq./ft. of absorption area is required for CAT III effluent (450 gpd / 2.0). The existing 2009 drainfield has 250 sq./ft. of absorption area. In short, the drainfield meets the Cat III sizing requirements. We would like to note that the 2009 Inspection report incorrectly states the bedrooms to be 4 -bedrooms, but MOA records show it to be 3 -bedrooms. We request this be amended on the Inspection Report. At this time. we request that your department approve a CAT II configuration to be used at the referenced property. Upon your concurrence, we will have ARM Septic Service, LLC., go to the property, remove the actuator from the ball valve or leave the valve in the open position, and ve them plate a CAT 11 sticker on the control panel. cereiy, Jeffrey ! The property was formally part of Atelier #1, Tract 213-1 but has been subdivided and is now known as Ranna Lot 2. The owner is planning to build a three (3) bedroom house on the property that will be served by a septic system and well. We are proposing to install a 1500 gallon S.T.E.P tank with Quanics controls/floats, a 650 Aerocell Unit and a 10' by 25' bed type drainfield consisting of 2 lines. One test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield is designed around the 30 foot radius of the test hole. We are also proposing to have a well drilled on-site to serve the proposed house. Attached is a site plan showing neighboring lots and separation distances from the proposed well. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: We are unaware of any adverse impacts that the well and septic would have on any neighboring wells or septic systems. 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are surface waters on the east end of the property. The septic system is located outside of the 100 foot setback of the water. A registered land surveyor will be required to flag the prior to construction. 4. TOPOGRAPHY & WAIVER REQUEST: As can be seen on the attached topography drawing the average topography around the drainfield site is a relatively flat. The proposed drainfield will be 35' away from the top of the cutbank (40% slope). In this case we are requesting a 35' waiver be granted from the drainfield to the cutbank. As can be seen on the attached drawing, at a 25% slope (starting 2 feet above the drainfield) the potential point of daylighting is greater than 50' horizontally from the bed. 3701 E.
