Wallner Subdivision; Lot 1, Block 1. To whom it may concern: Two test holes were excavated on the property. The proposed septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radii of test hole #1 and #2. We are proposing that a 1250 gallon septic tank and a five foot wide drainfield be installed. Comments regarding the proposed design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: Attached are logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. In TH#l, the soils below the organic layers are a SM/GW material to a depth of 8.5 feet and then slowly transitions to an SM layer to a depth of 14 feet (bottom of test hole). In TH#2, the soils below the organic layers are a SM material to a depth of 8.5 feet and then transitions to a GW/SP layer to a depth of 12 feet (bottom of test hole). During excavation, TH#1 was dry, and groundwater was found at 11.5 feet in TH#2. Ten days later, the level in TH#1 had risen to 13 feet and TH#2 was at 11.5. A percolation test for TH#1 was performed between the depths of 7.5 feet to 8.0 feet which had a percolation rate of 6.2 minute/inch. A percolation test for TH#2 was performed between the depths of 3.0 feet to 3.5 feet which had a percolation rate of 60 minute/inch. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils, an application rate of 0.6 gallons/day/fi2 should be used. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: 6.2 & 60 minutes/inch b. Allowable Application Rate: 0.6 gallons/day/ft2 c. Number of Bedrooms: 4 d. Design Flow: 600 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 1000 ft2 f. Total Depth: 6 feet (max.) g. Effective Depth: 3 feet h. Width: 5 feet i. Reduction Factor: 0.58 i. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed upgrade. 4. TOPOGRAPIt¥: As can be seen on the attached topography site plan, the average slope of this property is roughly 20 percent, running from east to west. In short, there are no slope concerns. The trench is to be installed parallel to slope contours. We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems.
