SUBJEGT: Percolation Test; Lot 1, Highland Park Subdivision Dear Mr. Johnston: The writer verified the percolation rate at the location selected by you for a single residence individual sewerage system. The results are shown on sheet 1 of 1 attached. The percolation rate is one inch (1") per ten (10) minutes. The writer expects that upon development of the leeching pit the average soil permeability will be greater (higher percolation rate). The location selected by you with reference to topography, well/structure and adjacent land use is very good. If we may be of further service in this regard do not hesitate to contact the writer. ',O [ ,'-. RECEIVfi'D Lot 17 Highland Terrace Subdivision~ A sewer system adequacy 'test was performed on the system located on a vacant lot. The septic tank was pumped and verified to have a capacity of 500 gallons. The seepage pit was charged with 1000 gallons of fresh water and after a period of 24 hours all the water which had been added to the crib had percolated out. It can be concluded from this test that the septic tank is adequate for a one bedroom house and the seepage pit is adequate for up-to four bedrooms. It will be necessary for you to add additional septic tank capacity before this system can be used for construction of either a three or four bedroom house.
