(AECS) on the Tract of land NE 1/4, SW 1/4, NW 1/4, Sect A T12N R3W Seward Meridian. Background: Landforms; The area tested occupies a nearly level north-south bench immediately south of the Rabbit Creek valley. Geomorphology of the site is a terrace or outwash terrace of Rabbit Creek. Relief in the test area is less than 20' Vegetation; Birch and white spruce, with diameter up to 15" dominate the site. Small birch and alder occupy sections which were cleared of trees approximately 10-15 years ago. Soils; No generalities are made about these soils. Each test hole revealed many strata. These strata are distinguished by texture and color. Textures vary from GM to ML with the majority of layers having 10% silt or more. More sand is found as depth increases. DISCUSSION: Please see attached soil logs. Tests were performed in conjunction with the regulations set forth in "Design Manual for On-Site Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems" published by the E.P.A. The objective of our testing was to determine'the soils' suitability for on-site septic systems. The important soil characteristics are 1) Soil depth (depth to bedrock); 2) depth to groundwater; 3) soil permeability and 4) surface slope. Testing results indicate that the soils of this area have no limitations with respect to proper functioning of on-site septic systems. All slopes are less than 25%. S 68 6 6 APR 2 0 1983 RECOMMENDATIONS: AECS views the soils as acceptable for on-site septic systems. As far as soils are concerned the subdivision can be approved as platted. We do recommend the septic systems on lots li4 be located towards the east side of the test holes as soils appear to become tighter to the west.
