Per the homeowner's request, we are proposing to install a new 2 bedroom septic system. We are proposing to re -utilize the existing 1250 gallon STEP tank and install a new 2 bedroom sized dual 5 -wide trench type drainfield. One testhole was excavated on the property and the proposed drainfields and its reserved site is designed around the 30 foot radius of this testhole. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached soil log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There is a creek located to the north and west of the proposed drainfield but is located well over 100 feet away. 4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached topography drawing, the average topography around the proposed drainfield is 25-30% running southeast to northwest. 5. WAIVER: We are requesting a zero (0) foot waiver to slopes greater than 25%. The existing slopes are a maximum of 30% and the drainfield will be installed on these slopes. We are also requesting that your department issue a waiver from the required separation distance of drainfield to testhole from 5 feet down to zero feet. We are proposing to replace the tank with a new 1,250 -gallon steel STEP tank to serve the two-bedroom home on the lot. We are therefore requesting a permit be issued for the construction of a new STEP tank to serve the home.
