Superior Plumbing & Heating, Inc. 8861 Elim Street Anchorage, Alaska 99507 Subject: Anchorage Regional Landfill, Maintenance / Administration Building, ADEC Project Number 9121-WW-064; Soil Absorption System Replacement,Plan Review Dear Mr. VanDenTop: This is in response to your June 21, 1991 hand carried submittal, which included modified design plans for a soil absorption system to replace the existing system which was contaminated by waste oil. I have reviewed the submitted information and this office's file on this project and have the following comments. Based on the intended use of the facility and the assumption of the subsurface soil conditions, as detailed in the submitted data, it appears that the proposed wastewater disposal system is adequately sized as noted in the submitted plans. Therefore, subject to the following requirements, the construction plans are approved for the concerns of this Department, in accordance with the provisions of 18 AAC 72, Wastewater Disposal Regulations. The installation of the wastewater disposal system will to be monitored by a Professional Engineer (P.E.) Complete as-built drawings of the wastewater disposal system will need to be submitted to this office under the stamp of a P.E. The submitted as-built drawings will need to verify soils, watertable and impermeable strata separation. A cross sectional view of the soil absorption system will need to be included with the submitted as-built drawings. (~ prinled on ~ecycled pape[ b y C.D Mr. Jan VanDenTop, P.E. June 26, 1991 Page 2 Due to nondomestic wastewater being discharged into the wastewater disposal system prior to the septic tanks, the owner of this facility will need to submit a Wastewater Discharge Permit Application to this Department. This requirement of the plan approval will be covered in separate correspondence to the facility owner/operator. This approval does not imply the granting of additional authorizations, nor obligate any state, federal, or local regulatory body to grant required authorizations. Thank you for your cooperation with this Department. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, /~ Keven K.
