Jennings SR 1-17, Old Glenn Highway Chugiak, Alaska 99567 Re: Soils and Percolation Testing Gentlemen: According to our verbal agreement dated February 3, 1987, we have completed soils and percolation testings on the Indian Valley Subdivision (legal description: Lot 10, Block 1, Indian Valley Subdivision). Attatched are the results of our investiga- tion. Based on our investigation, the site has suitable soils for an absorption system. Two test holes were dug. Test hole No. 1 was located near the South-East corner of the lot. Soils encountered in this test hole consists of Sandy Gravel with Cobbles and Trace Silt overlain by about 6 inches of top soil. Soils are suitable for an absorption system. Test hole No. 2 was placed near the North-East corner of the lot. Soils in this test hole Consists of Sandy Gravel with some Cobbles and Trace Silt overlain by about 12 inches of top soil. 6541 DeBarr Road Anchorage, Alaska 99504 Office 337-7111 / Home 337-8894 Thus, the soil conditions at the site appear to be uniform and suitable for a soil absorption system. No water level was en- countered at either of the test holes. A 6 inch diameter pipe was installed in the ground to check the ground water table. No water was recorded for a period of 7 days. Percolation tests were performed on both test holes at 4.5 to 5.0 feet. The attatched test results show a percolation rate of 0.42 and 0.67 minutes per inch at test hole No. 1 and test hole No. 2, respectively. Fig. 1 shows the location of existing wells and disposal system. The proposed well and disposal system in the investigated lot are also shown in the attatched Fig. 1. Figs. 2 and 3 present the results of the percolation tests and other topographic information about the lot. Should you have any questions on the above findings, please do not hesitate to contact us.
