The following are attached. 1. Drawing of proposed on-site systems. 2. Soils logs and percolation test results. 3. Trench design calculations. 4. Letter on ground water availability. Development of the adjacent properties will not be adversely impacted by construction of the proposed systems as distances to adjacent features are in compliance with applicable requirements. The closest feature that could be affected is the proposed water line and well, which is in the other side of the proposed building. Slopes on this portion of the lot are moderate. Drainage is to Little Rabbit Creek to the northwest. Both the replacement and the original system trenches fitted within the 30' radius circles around the test hole. Ground water availability is indicated by the attached letter dated Feb. 21 1992 from Terrasat. It is recommended that a permit for the on-site systems be issued. I conducted a major ground water exploration investigation in the Bear Valley area during 1985 and 1986. This report is based on those findings. Our investigation included: · Aerial photo interpretation of geologic and hydrogeologic conditions of the entire basin · Lineament analysis of the area · A literature review of published reports and maps Interviews with experts from the U.S. Geological Survey and Alaska Division of Geophysical and Geological Surveys · Geophysical investigations using resistivity methods · Drilling and construction of five wells. · Muir-level completion of observation wells · Aquifer testing for 24 hours at 100 gallons per minute plus 1 week of recovery data · Water quality analysis A final report was not prepared. However, results from the investigation are preserved in our files. SUMMARY of FINDINGS We found that a buried valley exists in the Bear Valley area. I believe that the basin is a remnant of past glaciation. The basin is filled with unconsolidated sandy gravel and glacial till. This basin is bounded by consolidated rock (bedrock) on the East, west and south. 0 c) i!
