This is less than the .42 required by Municipal Code for a four bedroom home. A total of 660 gallons of static storage has been added to the water system to increase water availability to the household. The storage includes 2- 330 gallon Norwesco vertical storage tanks. The tanks are NSF certified and all components of the water system including the storage tanks comply with the latest adopted edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. The storage tanks are plumbed in line with from the well and will be filled directly by the well. Water flows directly from the static storage through a Goulds transfer pumkp to the standard pressure tank which maintains the working pressure in the water system. No water hauling is anticipated. We are therefore requesting a permit be issued for the construction of a new septic system to accommodate the home. The subdivision is currently undeveloped and all lots surrounding this lot are vacant. The attached Site Plan and backup documentation identify the location and configuration of the proposed well and septic system along with the alternate site. No existing wells or septic systems are closer than 100' from the proposed septic system. Drainage arrows are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow on the lot. The drainage pattern will not be changed as a result of this project. The test holes placed on the lot in the area of the absorption trench and alternate site indicated silty gravel (GM) material with some sand. The percolation rate of the soil was determined to be 2.5 minutes per inch. No groundwater was found during the placement of the test holes and none was noted during the monitoring period. Bedrock was found at 8' below the surface. An application rate of 1.2 gallons per day per square foot was used in the design of the absorption system. A lift station/pump vault will be placed in the house to pump septic effluent to the septic tank. We are proposing to place a new 1,500 -gallon Septic tank and 2-44' long by 5' wide by 1' effective depth absorption trenches to treat and dispose of the effluent generated in the house. The elevation of the distribution line in the absorption trenches will be 1' below the surface and the total depth will be 2' to provide a minimum of 6' separation from bedrock. A minimum of 3' of fill or 2" of insulation and 2' of fill will be placed over the absorption trench and 4' over the septic tank. A flow diverter valve will be placed to insure even flow to each trench. The new trench will be constructed parallel with the contours of the slope as much as possible in conformance with Municipal requirements.
