All construction must be in accordance with: 1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska Wastewater
Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80).
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer must notify the Development Services
Department at least 2 hours prior to each inspection. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24 hours).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather must either:
A. Open and Close on the same day.
B. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing.

To Whom it may concern:
This is a request for a replacement septic permit on the above referenced lot which has failed, the tank
rested-out and feIMn. This area of town is serviced by AWWU and only this lot and the neighbor (lot 8) to
the south have on-site septic. No access is available except through the neighbor's fence to the south. If we
did a test hole combined with the installation the time line and permitting would be over 10 days at best.
Therefore we have researched the AWWU soils in the area and found them to clean sand with some gravels.
Also soils log on lot 8 shows gravels and sands similar to the AWWU logs with no water table. We are
requesting permission to excavate a test hole and install the system if the soils meet the profile we believe
are proposing.
If the perc rate is 5 Ihinutes per inch or less then the application rate of 1.2 GPD/SF would mean the length
would be 38 feet with 5 feet of effective depth.
The lot slopes at about 2-3% to the south with the proposed new septic area located on the same slope. No
cut banks exist within 50 of the down slope area from the proposed leach field. This new system will not
impact any of the neighboring lots.
