The proposed system will serve a I -bedroom single-family residence. Soil logs, design calculations, a site plan, design drawings and construction specifications are enclosed for your review. Design Cates: Groundwater observed at a depth of 9 feet below ground surface (7/29/2014). Soil Ratings: From TH #1 7/24/14 2.5 min/in = 1.2 gal per sq.£t/day From TH #2 7/24/14 28 min/in = 0.6 gal per sq.ft./day From TH #2 7/24/14 23 min/in = 0.6 gal per sq.ft./day No. of Bedrooms Required Area per Bedroom: 15010.6 =250.ft. Total area required: 250 x 1 = 250 sq.ft. System: We are proposing a 1000 gallon septic tank followed by a wide trench absorption field. The absorption field will be 50 feet long and 5 feet wide and contain 0.5 feet (250 sq.ft. effective) of sewer rock. Soils: Test holes were excavated on July 22"d,2014. See the attached soil logs. Ground water Monitoring will continue through construction of the septic system. Groundwater was observed 203 West 15th Avenue Suite 203, Anchorage, AK 99501, Phone: (907) 279-3916 Fax: (866) 354-1597, Lspurkland@gci.net Environmental Consulting and Design at a depth of 9feet below ground surface in Test hole 41. Test Hole #2 was dry. Test hole #3 was excavated so that an additional percolation test could be conducted. It had a total depth of 5 feet, ground water was not observed. Surface Water: There are no surface waters within one hundred feet of the proposed septic system upgrade. Topography: The ground level slopes down towards the west at 40% above the proposed septic location, 10-15% at the area where the proposed septic system location, and drops off at 45% approximately 40 feet from the location of the reserve field and 65 feet from the proposed drain field. Waivers: We are requesting slope waivers for the primary and reserve sites. See attached documentation. Well: The proposed well location is in the southeast corner of the lot and will not impact the usable area of the lots to the east or south. The installation of this well and septic system will not prevent wells and septic systems from being installed on the adjacent lots. The proposed septic system will not change the general slope of the area. Ponding and/or concentration of surface runoff will not result from this installation. Subject: RE: Septic Permit- Wetlands Delineation- Moose Run Lot 1 Hi Lars, Thanks for the call today and discussing the septic plans/development plans for Moose Run Lot 1. Based on a site visit in the area earlier this summer, the wetlands appear to be located at the base of the slope and continue west to the western property line. Since your proposed development is on the slope, it is unlikely that you will need a wetland delineation. You may wish to consider contacting the Corps and requesting a Pre -Jurisdictional Determination (PJD); a PJD can be done via desktop analysis. The Corps can be reached at 907-753-2712. Deb, I do not foresee any wetland impacts with this proposed development. If the site plan is modified and the development moves down slope, then it may be necessary to coordinate with the Corps for a PJD (or a JD).
