Re: Reclassification of the Quanics, Aerocell Advanced Wastewater Technology
Dear Mr. Gamess:
Effective immediately the advanced wastewater system, referred to as a Quanics,
Aerocell, will be elevated to a Category III Nitrate Reducing rating from its current
Category II rating pursuant, to the Advanced Wastewater Code section of AMC 15.65.
We have reviewed the 40 laboratory tests performed on effluent treated by the Aerocell
wastewater treatment system from three single - family homes in the Municipality of
Anchorage. These tests show the effluent quality meets the required code limits for
Category III Nitrate Reducing technology. The testing was successfully completed
dudng the coldest three consecutive months of December - January - February as
directed by the attached minutes during the January 2005 Technical Review Board
meeting.
As part of this approval, the On-Site Water & Wastewater Program will inspect one of
the three test systems dudng the month of January, 2009. Additional effluent sampling
will be a part of this inspection process. Costs associated with the additional sampling
will be paid by you.
