Gentlemen:
In response to your request fourteen testholes were placed
at the requested locations for examination of the soils for
on-site individual sewage treatment systems.
The holes were placed and examined in conformance with Greater
Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality
criteria.
The testhole locations are shown on fig. 1.
The testhole logs, on Table A.
Standard explanatory information, on sheets 1 to 3.
The GARB published correlation of soil textural types by
the Unified Classification system in terms of square feet of
seepage area per bedrooms is as follows:

Soil with seepage rates in excess of_ 2-50 sq. ft/bedroom are
usually not allowed unless a higher rate is determined by
on-site percolation test. Additionally the bottom of the
seepage pit is currently required to be 4' above the water
table.
Based on these criteria we suggest the following for the
areas described by the several test holes.
The only free water encountered was below 9' in hole f6.
This a�7peared :o be the low point in the area. Even �_n that
case only isolated seepage was encountered.

The soils were generally open and permeable, being sand gravel
mixtures.
The exploration was accomplished with a track mounted Mobile
B-50 drill fitted with solid flight auger. Samples were taken
from the bit at several depths and cuttings from all depths
were observed. The soils were examined by O.M. Hatch of our
staff and the classification estimated. A minimum of confir-
mative tests have been performed in the laboratory. The drill
and crew were provided by Denali Drilling Inc.
We trust the foregoing is sufficient to your immediate needs
though not necessarily exhaustive of the possibilities. Should
